Keep It Food Safe!
Food grade glass, stainless steel, ceramic or wood are the only materials you should be using for your utensils or vessels. Plastic can be used short term but isn't recommended. Reactive surfaces such as cast iron, aluminium, non-stick and copper will kill your brew. Do not use!

Sanitize!
Sanitizing is not the same as cleaning. You use soap and hot water to wash away food or dirt. Sanitization is the process of eliminating and destroying germs, bacteria, pathogenic, and non-pathogenic microorganisms that manifest on various surfaces. This process can be achieved with a variety of chemicals and products.
